I just saw a preview of "The Gauntlet" at Newsarama. It's the new storyline in Amazing Spider-Man, and I've got no idea how long it'll last -- or how long even the first chapter of it, dealing with Electro and written by Mark Waid, will last. Anyone have any idea?

The blurb for #612 at Marvel's website describes "The Gauntlet" as "the event that redefines Spider-Man's classic arch-enemies one by one", starting with Electro. One of the covers shows Spidey unconscious in Kraven's grave with Electro's mask, Mysterio's helmet, the Rhino's mask (with a knife in it), what might be part of the Sandman, and a white coat that could be the Lizard's with blood on it. Behind the gravestone the boots of a woman can be seen. I'd guess there's going to be a story with each of these characters, perhaps including Kraven. I don't have any ideas as to whom Bootwoman might be, but someone else might.
The solicitation for Spider-Man: Gauntlet Book 1 in the Marvel solicitations for February gives a bit more away. It features Electro and the Sandman and is listed as collecting five issues of Amazing Spider-Man, a Dark Reign issue, and "material from Web of Spider-Man #2". So the story might allot 2-3 issues per villain.

Good article in the recent CBG about the event. And I doubt that any change in Sandy's "goodness" is permanent. Remember when he was an Avenger? sigh...

Looking at the cover, I imagine Bootwoman is the new Kraven, his daughter, who seems to be planning all this...
I don't think OMD/BND changed the villain's histories in any way... I think these reboots are intended to be more organic.
Hmm... Bootwoman and Pixieshoes, fighting their arch-nemesis Old Guy in Shorts and Sandals with Black Socks...

Check out the Secret Headquarters (my store) website! It's a pretty lame website, but I did it myself, so tough noogies
Listen to WOXY.com, it's the future of rock-n-roll!
