    I'm excited. I'd be much more excited if Dwayne McDuffie were the writer. TV writers have been a mixed bag moving to comics, ranging from what some consider great (Joss Whedon) to passable (JMS on occasion) to downright awful (Reginald Hudlin).

    Hell, I'd be more excited if Jo Duffy were doing the writing.

    Static is an example of creators' rights hampering merchandising. Static Shock! was on for several seasons yet there were no toys, coloring books or tie-ins. He had an extensive roster of foes and allies, crossovered into other DC animated series and finally returned to the mainstream DCU in Teen Titans but it seems if DC has to share profits with creators, they would rather not promote than pay!
