Annnnd today was the day I stopped reading super-hero comics. One that I won't name finally broke me. Collection stops as of now. No joke.

He said it was just the last book in a long line of disappointing ones...

  • Curious. I wonder which one it was?
  • I wonder if it was Wonder Woman's new costume?

    (Heh, heh, heh...)
  • I bet it was that book Irredeemable.
  • I would think anybody who could withstand Justice League: Cry for Justice could withstand anything.
  • Does this mean he's quitting Irredeemable and Incorruptible, or does he simply intend to not read his own stuff? Does that mean Boom! won't be publishing any superhero comics anymore, or that he won't be doing his job as EIC and reading his own company's product?
  • Exactly my question- as a reader, writer or both?

  • His Facebook page doesn't say anything about it (yet).
  • His tweet said "today was the day I stopped reading super-hero comics" (emphasis mine).

Given the timing, I assume it was something that shipped yesterday.

I see that he wrote "No joke" but it's not like people haven't exaggerated on the Internet before. I mean, c'mon. A comic so bad that anybody would stop reading superhero comics from all publishers, not just the one who published the offending story? I don't believe in such a story and I don't think that Mark Waid is that petty.
