Meh.

  • Unfortunately, people have been saying "meh" to the last 50 issues of the title, so they gotta try something new.
  • Agreed. And while I'll certainly cop to not having any brilliant ideas as to what they should have done, by me, this wasn't it.
  • One thing I particularly didn't like - and this just may be a personal thing with me - is that they did not so contrive it that the first issue ended with the the initial "founding" of the team - you know, all of the founding members gathered together, and one or more of them proclaiming something like "We'll call ourselves...the Justice League!" That sort of thing. At the rate they're going, it'll be the end of issue #6 before we see that sort of thing.
  • I'll also cop to not being much of a Jim Lee fan. He's certainly a talented artist - but for whatever reason his art just doesn't "work" for me, for some reason.
  • I'm not crazy about Lee's art, either -- he's an excellent artist who's not to my taste.

I liked it better than "meh" -- it was a decent started issue -- but I wanted to see the story progress further than it did. I didn't need a "We are... the Justice League!" moment at the end, but I would have liked to at least have touched base with every member.

  • I miss the Young Ones.

I may have to look for a US DVD.

No, it's not just you. Earlier today I made a similar comment an a different discussion thread.
  • So are they still opting for longer stories to be TPBs?
  • Of course they are.  And you can add that the price tag of $4 and you will understand why these are now so slowly paced and so long in developing.

  • I would love to ask this august body what they would have done in re-introducing these characters.

I am not trying to be flippant, but I think this group could come up with a great plot for this series.
