A little shorter this time...

1. I wonder which Bart Sears we are gonna get on the Conan mini? The Path Bart Sears (yay!) or Captain America & Falcon Bart Sears (not so much)?

2. In the end I am choosing to skip all of the Flashpoint comics for now. Maybe later, and let others sort the wheat from the chaff for me.

3. 22 comics total for Flashpoint for those keeping score at home. It will run you $66.78 if you want them all. (1 @$3.99 & 21 @$2.99)

4. Man that Teen Titans Omnibus looks good, just a bit much for me since I have most of those comics already.

5. Now I will be getting the Secret Society of Super-Villains hard cover. Which does include the Canceled Comics Cavalcade material.

6. Maybe my disappoint with Oasis has left me with little interest in another Road to Perdition sequel.

7. I barely even slow down flipping through IDWs solicits.

8. Robert Kirkman has his own imprint? Who knew?

9. A 32 page $1.00 comic? Sold Samurai's Blood!

10. Nice to see Lee Moder on a series again. Shinku for those curious.

11. Only 17 Fear Itself comics? Come on Marvel I expect more from ya.

12. Ka-Zar looks really weird on that cover.

13. Ghost Rider 0.1....<sigh>

14. S.H.I.E.L.D. gets a reboot already.

15. Let's check in with Bluewater again with their bio comics: George Carlin, Tigers Woods, Laura Ingrham, Lady Gaga - expanded edition, Hillary Clinton - foil edition, and Keith Richards

16. Sorry Dynamite, I'm not gonna decide on the Kirby: Genesis series until I read the preview issue.

    Wise move.

    4. Man that Teen Titans Omnibus looks good, just a bit much for me since I have most of those comics already.

Is this the Wolfman/Perez stuff from the start?  I've bought most of the first few years worth, but might be missing the first 1-2 issues.  I haven't read them yet.  One unforseen advantage of bringing out these collections is that the back issues then seem to pop up more easily, and they get a bit cheaper.

Have these comics been collected before?  Very strange if not!

    16. Sorry Dynamite, I'm not gonna decide on the Kirby: Genesis series until I read the preview issue.

This looks worth a stab for me.  What month are we talking about here?  Maybe you could indicate?

It occurs to me that this series is going to have to 'start over' and integrate the different properties into one universe, but I don't see them creating a continuity that doesn't include the actual stories in the genuinely 100% Kirby comics, like Silver Star and Captain Victory.  It'll be interesting to see how/if they do that, and how much of the Topps stuff they ignore.

  • Figs, yeah it has the Titan's first appearance in in DC Comics Presents and then I think the first 13 issues of their new series (going on memory on that part, at work right now).

The Kirby preview comic (#0) comes out this month, and then the first issue comes out next month, but I will have had my order form filled out and turned in well before I read the preview.

  • The early New Teen Titans issues have only been collected in, I believe, three Archives prior to this.

I agree with your assessment of Sears' art but I'll probably skip it either way.

I'm debating holding out for a softcover.

    7. I barely even slow down flipping through IDWs solicits.

Especially now that they lost the Angel/Spike license to Dark Horse.

    8. Robert Kirkman has his own imprint? Who knew?

    Really? Cool.

    10. Nice to see Lee Moder on a series again. Shinku for those curious.

I'm looking forward to this one. I generally like Ron Marz' martial arts books.

I think I'm up for it. Or, at least the first issue. I like the idea of that creative team (Busiek and Ross) working on some of Kirby's wild concepts.

With Kirkman's Super-Dinosaur, Marz' Shinku and Kirby: Genesis, I'll be trying out a lot of new, non-big two titles.

I am doing the same although I am generally a fan of altered timeline stories. Man, I really wish they would bring back regular Elseworlds stories.

    5. Now I will be getting the Secret Society of Super-Villains hard cover. Which does include the Canceled Comics Cavalcade material.

Don't get TOO excited. It was supposed to be released a few years ago as a Showcase Presents & then was cancelled. I ordered it myself although I have the originals but I am of the mind I will accept it as fact once it is in my hands.

Haven't they been doing enough of these that they ought to get people who actually know how to draw?
  • FYI - 4 archives

  • Ah, thanks.

With IDW, I'm in for the two Matt Smith Doctor Who books, Godzilla (Rose is a big fan), and Kill Shakespeare...although, KS may be done by this Previews.

  • Wasn't #13 the first part of the Hunt for the Doom Patrol's Killers? Odd place to end a collection!

  • I think It was the start of the story with Hyperion and the original TItans of myth.

#12 was the end of the Doom Patrol killers story.

Or course, this is depending on my memory.
