GEORGIE & MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE: This second generation spin-off of The Big Bang Theory began last night.
GHOSTS: The fourth season began last night.
THE ENGLISH TEACHER: Tracy stopped watching this show because it is too "cringy." As a matter of opinion, I personally do not don't think there is a single likeable character on the show, but I can't look away. For an entirely different POV, click HERE. (6-minute listen.)
AFTER MIDNIGHT: Back for its second season, with some changes from the first. for one thing, each episode begins with Taylor Tomlinson delivering a monologue now; for another, the "talk show portion" has evolved into the "couch game."
HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU: A sort of cross between After Midnight and Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.
TWILIGHT ZONE: I have moved on from season three to season five. That's because (according to The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows - 1946--Present), "After three successful seaons in a half-hour format, The Twilight Zone expanded to a full hour in January 1963. The longer format was abandoned the following fall, but some of the longer episodes were rerun during the summer of 1965." I don't think I've ever seen any of the hour-long ones; they must not have ever been syndicated. But I did see a single special episode in color once; that may have been an hour long, but I don't remember. I am nearing the end of watching season five, and have already started to record season one. I began this latest re-watch 14 episodes in to season two.
THE LONE RANGER: I started watching this in the middle of the second season as well. By the time I got to the end of season three, I had already recorded the rest of the series as well as the first one and a half seasons. Now I am well into season four.

The SyFy channel includes the hour-long Twilight Zone episodes during its annual New Year's Day marathon. The past couple of years, they have also included hour-long episodes from the CBS+ (now Paramount+) revival by Jordan Peele, aring them in black-and-white. Those are suitably creepy, and deal with modern issues that might have been on Rod Serling's radar had he been around now.
One standout has Sanaa Lathan driving cross-country to take her son to college. She has an old video camera to record the journey. Along the way, they get stopped -- more than once -- by a racist cop who makes increasingly impossible demands on them to justify to him why they should be on the roads. Somehow, in rewinding the camera, the difficulties go away ... especially when tragedy strikes, and the realization sets in that the cop's mission is to make sure the son doesn't get to the college and get his education.
It doesn't seem like Syfy wants to use episodes from the 1980s revival that had Forrest Whitaker as the host. Those episodes are two half-hour stories back-to-back, not one-hour tales.

I've wanted for a long time a thread that takes each episode of the original Twilight Zone series, one by one, and breaks them down. Then Night Gallery. Then Peele's Twilight Zone series. And so forth. All in one place, all of us discussing at the same time, all of us comparing and contrasting.
Many Legionnaires have, at one time or another, done some sort of Twilight Zone discussion, but it was always sort of ad hoc and disjointed, and helter skelter. And just speaking for myself, I have run across this discussion or that about this episode or that, that I'd have loved to have jumped into, but it was, like, 5 years old.
So I've always wanted a more formal, comprehensive and easy to find Twilight Zone/Rod Serling/Jordan Peele discussion, with all the learned minds on this board. It's a dream of mine.

Oh, really? I didn't know that! I'll keep it in mind, my own personel "Project 2025." (Too soon?)

Hate to rain on your parade, but it's been a long time since we've had one of those discussions.Still, I've got seasons 1-3 & 5 fresh in my mind (and soon season 4) and would be willing to participate. Tracy's in the mood for West Wing. I told her we could if the election turned out the way it did.
The documentary series, Paid in Full: The Battle for Black Music, about the historic mistreatment of Black artists in the music industry.
We also went to see a play that's touring, As You Like It as a Beatles musical set in 1960s British Columbia. It was original and entertaining, though that original script remains a bit of a mess, as though Shakespeare had a bunch of good ideas and a deadline to meet.
I am binging the three-part animated (reimagined) Crisis on Infinite Earths on MAX. Each part is 90 minutes. I finished part one and have started part two. Part three will likely be tomorrow. It is different enough from other versions to be worth a look.
We're caught up and awaiting the final episode of this season. It's a good, if dark, reimagining, in continuity with The Batman (2022).
Of course, his name has to be Oswald Cobb, even though "Cobblepot" is an actual, if rare, surname and his full name is rarely mentioned in the series. But being named "Cobblepot" would wreck the suspension of disbelief more than, say, Batman's existence or the going's-on in this show's version of Arkham or the Penguin's noteworthy plot armour.
Having read the book, Sharp Objects, I might see the TV adaptation from 2018, or maaaybe watch Euphoria, which is back in the news due to its hypothetical belated third season (though I see that two years separate seasons 1 and 2).

Guess.

I started a discussion on July 13th (when I thought all three parts were available), then I forgot all about part three. We might watch it tonight.
