My curiousity is piqued by Absolute Superman, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the JSA one myself. I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the recent series, and I didn't enjoy that one as much as the one before, and so on, back and back and back. There are some JSA series that I really liked that I haven't read more than once. I'm starting to wonder whether I would be better served simply rereading older series than continually buying new ones.
I won't be getting JSA until next week, and I really want to like it. But I have to admit, I've been cool on pretty much anything I've ever read by Lemire.

Rob, JSA has strong ties to Absolute Power, which I did not read. YMMV

A big part of the problem that I had is that there seems to be a gap between the new series and the old one, like there was a story that I missed somewhere.
Actually, while there's one incident from Absolute Power referenced in JSA (causing tension between Hourman & Jesse Quick) mostly it's just a time jump. Something has happened in the last couple weeks that we'll find out about as time goes on.

I read the All Eight Eyes trade, and it was not at all what I expected. Actually, it was better, because I thought it was a dark comedy, which would be OK, but it's why i didn't hurry to read it. Turns out it's not funny at all, and if you have arachnophobia, best you don't pick it up. I had some issues here and there, but overall I was pleased.

Not that overwhelmed by either one of them, really.
