If ever I should read this, it sure wasn't this summer
Reading this in summer, 'tis what I wanted so
Beneath the brightest sunlight, Cap's suit red as flame
Lightning bolt with a luster that puts gold to shame
But if I ever read this, it couldn't be this autumn
Why it's not this autumn, I never will know
How my eyes would sparkle when fall nips the air
If it shipped this autumn I would so be there
And will I hold this book, running merrily through the snow
Upon a wintry evening reading by the fire's glow
If ever I should read this, oh, could it be in springtime
Knowing how in spring I would love to read it so
Oh, no, not in springtime, summer, winter, or fall
No never will I read it at all

Thank you, sir! Here's the original, for those who would like to compare:
If ever I would leave you
It wouldn't be in summer.
Seeing you in summer I never would go.
Your hair streaked with sun-light,
Your lips red as flame,
Your face witha lustre
that puts gold to shame!
But if I'd ever leave you,
It couldn't be in autumn.
How I'd leave in autumn I never will know.
I've seen how you sparkle
When fall nips the air.
I know you in autumn
And I must be there.
And could I leave you
running merrily through the snow?
Or on a wintry evening
when you catch the fire's glow?
If ever I would leave you,
How could it be in spring-time?
Knowing how in spring I'm bewitched by you so?
Oh, no! not in spring-time!
Summer, winter or fall!
No, never could I leave you at all!

The Baron's post
has the most
good rhyming
good timing
It's better than hot buttered toast

Yeah, me too. Though my binding isn't doing so well.
Yeah, I'm on board for this whenever it comes out, too.
Apparently, TPTB had to choose between this or a hardcover, slipcased, gilt-edged 475th reprinting of "A Death in the Family."
