Worst Antagonist in Movie History?

Since we can't do polls, I still think this would be fun. Can anyone think of a worst antagonist in movie history than the Baseball Furies from The Warriors? Really, you're a gang of guys with baseball bats, and you lose to a bunch of dudes with bare fists only? In less than 20 seconds? Please, someone tell me there's a worst antagonist.

  • Good question. I'll have to give it some thought. Though the Furies were pretty lame. They were pretty kind of scary with the face paint and bats. Then they get owned by guys in leather vests.
  • I recall a reviewer describing The Warriors as "a punk rock fashion show." I loved it. I loved everything about it. Not looking forward to the remake, if only because it's going to be set in Los Angeles.

As for the question ... beats me.
  • Pee-Wee Herman in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
  • The guy with the scimitar who expected a "sword vs. whip" battle in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
  • Edgar the butler in The Aristocats. Seriously. All he had to do was poison the cats, not just put knock-out drops in the food. Then he could take the bodies away and dump them. But noooooo. The nimrod just puts them to sleep--literal, not metaphorical--which gives them opportunity to return and spoil his plans. And what does he do then? Kill them? Heck, no! Then he tries to ship them away. Yep, he packages them up to be mailed away. Worst. Villain. Ever.
  • Great topic, Randy.
  • Blofeld was pretty ineffectual in For Your Eyes Only
  • The Aliens in Independence Day, who were taken out by a guy with a Mac.

Check out the Secret Headquarters (my store) website! It's a pretty lame website, but I did it myself, so tough noogies

Listen to WOXY.com, it's the future of rock-n-roll!

Independence Day, one of the foremost examples of the "turn off your brain and watch" movie. Mine shut off when the cable guy -- who actually is a top scientist -- had to get from New York to Washington, D.C. in four hours, something you can't do on a ordinary day, let alone on a day when an alien armada is in the sky and the streets are crowded because everybody is panicking ...

but first had to go across town on a bicycle to his father's house -- on a day when the streets are crowded because everybody's panicking -- because his father was the one who had a car...

and they actually drove out of town even though the lanes out of town were bumper-to-bumper but the lanes into town were empty ...

and drove right up to the White House gate, something you can't do on an ordinary day, let alone on a day when an alien armada is in the sky and the streets are crowded because everybody is panicking ...

    and got in!

A lot of the Bond villains were pretty ineffectual. In "You Only Live Twice," Blofeld already had a huge facility for launching space ships. But he used his space ships to kidnap other space ships and then charged the world ransom for an amount much less than what his space program would have caught in the first place. Then there are the many times that Blofeld, or some other villain, captured Bond only to put him in an incredibly slow death device from which he could easily escape.
