Just a few trade waits this week.
JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #643 - This is in the middle of a 'weekly' series in conjunction with Thor. Normally I find Fraction's writing extremely wanting, but his handling of the relationship between child Loki and big brother Thor has some human feeling to it. I suspect child Loki was completely Gillen's idea, because fresh and emotionally engaging ideas, rather than 'awesome' and 'badass' bluster, are not things I associate with Fraction's Marvel work. Gillen is a smart collaborator for anyone to work with. The Alan Davis art and covers do no harm either.
(The similar recent 5 week crossover with New Mutants was wonderful, and actually went somewhere powerful with the Asgardian storylines Gillen has been working on since Siege.)
I'm curious as to what another writer than his creator would do with Damien's early days in Batman and Robin #0, but not curious enough to buy it.
BATMAN #0 I do wonder what is going to become of this book now that Night of Owls has passed.
BEFORE WATCHMEN COMEDIAN #3 (OF 6) (MR) I love what Brian Azzarello is doing on these books.
FANTASTIC FOUR #610 Ryan Stegman on the art last issue was really really sweet. Hope he's sticking around. Well, until Marvel NOW!!!, that is.

Star Wars Lost Tribe of the Sith #2- JJ Miller did a good job of introducing me to the characters & the world even though I haven't read any of the enovellas; probably the best Star Wars title at the moment (ahead of Dawn of the Jedi and Agent of the Empire)
Uncanny X-Men #18- only because I preordered it; these AvX tie-ins have become interminably tiresome
Winter Soldier #10
Wolverine & the X-Men #16- this title, on the other hand, has done a great job of focusing on singular moments with its tie-ins
X-O Manowar #5- one of the best titles on the stands, seriously
and I'm skipping X-Men #35 and X-Men Legacy #273 as the second tier titles have slowed down (even as they've sped up the production schedule)
I'd have to see & confirm ALIEN ILLUSTRATED STORY TP, if this is the original one done by Walter Simonson for heavy Metal magazine waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. I had the first prinitng of this when it first came out, but I read it so many times it fell apart. I think Dark Horse later reprinted it as part of their Aliens series. I know I have it.
If it is, it's an ESSENTIAL to anyone who's ever seen the movie/read the novel or read an Alien/Aliens/AvP comic.
I'm using it to just jump off of the new 52.
This coming week, I'm most pumped about the Bucko collection, the second issue of Waid and Samnee's Rocketeer, X-treme X-men, and the beginning of the new Stumptown mini-series.
