OK, I'll be handling this one a little differently than some of the other TV series I've re-watched. I don't own every episode of this, and what I do own isn't in broadcast order, so I'll be watching them as I find them, and updating this initial post as to where they sit in the show's history.

Show 321: "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians", first broadcast 12/21/1991
The Film: Martian children are boring, so the Martians decide to kidnap Santa Claus to liven them up. Beyond juvenile and on into puerile. I can't imagine liking this picture (non-MSTed) even as a little kid. It features a very young Pia Zadora, and the lamest polar bear costume ever.
The Host Segments: The Bots discuss Christmas catalogues, the Mads invent the Wish-Squisher (which turns fun gifts into practical ones), Joel and the Bots create new Misfit Toys, the gang sings "A Patrick Swayze Christmas", they discuss bottom-of-the-barrel Christmas specials, Servo melts down when they read their Christmas essays, Joel and the Bots have stocking time and the Mads exchange gifts.
Odd Notes: Servo has a snow globe in place of his usual head.
Favorite Lines:
- "I wanna decide who lives and who dies!" "Oh, I don't know."
- "Dropo, you are the laziest man on Mars!"
- "I had Jell-O today."
- "My finger isn't tired!" "Look out, nose!"
Rating: An OK episode, but not a great one. Probably most memorable for the song segment.

Not long ago, I picked this one as the episode to introduce The Lad to MST3K.

Me too. Unfortunately, I don't even have a VCR connected to a TV anymore. I suspect my tapes are crumbling into dust.

Movie: Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, released 4/19/1996
The Film: Mike and the Bots watch This Island Earth (1955), in which aliens from Metaluna come to Earth to help them fight a war. It's not that bad of a movie, plus it's got Russell Johnson in it.
The Host Segments: Crow attempts to tunnel to Earth, Mike crashes the Satellite of Love into the Hubble telescope (A brief "Manos" reference here), Mike and the Bots attempt to use Servo's Interocitor to get back to Earth (We see Servo's room here. He has a huge collection of underpants, and a chainsaw.), and Miek and the Bots celebrate the end of the film.
Odd Notes: Saw this in the Brattle Cinema in Harvard Square.
Rating: Not bad, but not great, either. If you're going to make a movie out of a TV series, the film ought to be better than the TV episodes, and this wasn't, not to mention that they pretty much gutted Season Seven to make this. Note: If you're the sort of person that is bothered by any profanity, Servo says "s**t" several times in this.

Show 1002: "Girl in Gold Boots", first broadcast 4/18/1999
The Film: Produced in 1968, and released in 1969, this is the story of a young woman who wants to be a go-go dancer, but falls in with a wannabe thug and a draft dodger. The film itself is pretty bad, the riffs on it are generally amusing.
The Host Segments: Crow has a "What Would Buffy Sainte-Marie Do?" bracelet, Pearl is trying hard to impress a visiting mad scientist so she can get her mad scientist accreditation (Apparently, the Sci-Fi Channel insisted that the host segments had to have running plot threads, so this is what why came up with), Crow exacts petty revenge on Mike (I found this segment to be very funny, even though I could see the joke coming a mile away), Crow go-go dances, Mike sings a folk song and somehow starts a fire doing so, Mike and the Bots dress like a thug from the movie and Obsever's go-go dancing earns Pearl her accreditation.
Rating: A fairly good episode, which reminds us just how goofy the 1960's actually were.

I never saw "The Girls in Gold Boots," but I'm remeinded I do have the MST3K version of "This Island Earth" on store-bought VHS. I remember not being too impressed, either.

Show 1009: "Hamlet", first broadcast 6/27/1999
The Film: This is a 1961 adaptation done for West German TV that was dubbed back into English. Keep an ear out for the voices of Ricardo Montalban and John Banner as Claudius and Polonius. It's hard to judge it - it's a poor print, and dubbed films are hard to judge anyway.
The Host Segments: Servo insists on being called "Sirveaux", Mike uses three card Monte to choose their film, Tom and Crow impersonate the Ghost of Mike's Father (who isn't dead yet), Mike hosts "Alas, Poor Who?", the Bots create a talking Hamlet action figure, and Fortinbras visits Pearl.
Rating: Good stuff. This is a particular favorite of mine. It's y favorite play, the riffs are good, and the host segments are generally funny.

Show 822: "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank", first broadcast 12/6/1997
The Film: This is a 1983 effort, filmed on videotape for the New York PBS station. It stars Raul Julia, who lives in a sort of future dystopia where his main crime seems to be watching movies on his work computer (which was actually kind of prescient). The picture is a confused mess, and the plot is hard to follow. It comes across as a real "amateur hour" production.
The Host Segments: Crow tries to sell his new catchphrase, Pearl holds a pledge drive and later sings a duet with Observer, the Bots buy a monkey which escapes and raises havoc and Servo decides to mess with the Nanites.
Rating: A so-so episode saved largely by the segments mocking that bane of the PBS viewer, the pledge drive.
