Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.
If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

The other green gamma powered leaper.
As close as I could find to a crossover cover between February and March.
I posted "Crisis on Earth-One" and "Crisis on Earth-Two" to bridge the transition from January ("Number 1/States of the Union") to February ("Number 2/Leaps and Jumps"). Instead of the obvious "Crisis on Earth-Three", this is my bridge to March's "Number 3/Anniversaries". Note that, although it's called "JLA - Earth 2", this is Grant Morrison's updated interpretation of the universe of Earth-3, and cover-features 2 teams of the 3 most iconic superhumans from each Earth.
I'm FINALLY back!
I did have to take the computer repair shop to small claims court and while I won, the court only rewarded me the current value of my old system, so it took me a while to scrape up the difference to acquire a new system.
And while one Quantum Leap cover was already posted, here's the one that started it all, courtesy of the Grand Comics Database.
The Sci-Fi Channel (I still can't call it by the shortened name with the Ys) is celebrating Leap Year with an all day Quantum Leap marathon through tomorrow moring, and I will be back tomorrow to kick off March. Take care.
Yay! It's good to have you back, Lee!
What a scummy computer repair shop. It's a real pity that they forced you to miss a month whose theme you originally suggested.

Instead of covers that rightly or wrongly proclaim an anniversary, I will be identifying actual 5-year and 10-year anniversaries of long-running titles. If it starts out monthly, I’ll just use the cover dates. If not, I’ll use the on-sale dates.
Action Comics, 5th and 10th anniversaries
I will start with a real anniversary (albeit one of the character, not the title itself).
And the corresponding cover for Superman...
