His performance in Catch-22 was how I first experienced his acting. Every performance I've seen since then has been great.
I'm glad he made it to89.
I'll even go so far as to say that his Inspector Clouseau suffers only in comparison to Peter Sellers'. (Sorry, Steve Martin.)
We watched The In-Laws on the night we found out he passed. Still a great movie. And, man, what a wonderful actor he was. I'll miss him terribly.
