  • You do know that you're not actually required to buy all those books, don't you? ;)
  • No? Let’s examine that premise…

Bloom County Vol. 2: It’s no Doonesbury, but I do like it and did buy vol. 1.

Buck Rogers Vol. 4: There’s no way I’m missing this one! But Buck Rogers Sundays Vol. 1 was solicited for September release and that hasn’t shipped yet, and given that none of the previous volumes have shipped on time, I doubt volume one will be on time.

Girl Genius Vol. 9: This one’s for Tracy. ‘Nuff said.

Rip Kirby Vol. 2: Dave Sim’s examination of Alex Raymond’s Rip Kirby in glamourpuss has me champing at the bit for this one, but frankly I haven’t gotten around to cracking volume one yet.

George Perez JLA Vol. 2: DC really could have made one volume of this material!

GrimJack: Manx Cat: I’ve got all the individual issues; this one can wait.

Neil Gaimam/Charles Vess “Instructions”: Not technically a “collection”, but another from Tracy’s list.

Klassic Krazy Kool Kids Komics: This is more Doc Beechler’s regular fare than mine, but this collection looks very, very interesting, featuring comics by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Carl Barks, Walt Kelly, Frank Frazetta, Jules Feiffer, Dr. Suess, Harvey Kurtzman, Mort walker, Wally Wood, Dan DeCarlo, John Stanley and syd Hoff. If it happens to ship on a light week I’ll definitely consider it, but if all this ships on April 28 as planned? Forget it!

"Funny" spelling on a book for kids is a big pet peeve of mine. I'm staying far away from that one as it looks like the slapdash cousin of the Classic book.
  • I generally don't like "funny" spelling, either, but look at that list of names!

Deserves at least a look, wouldn't you say?

I just get a bad vibe from this one for some reason.

Maybe 'cause its initials are KKK? (Well, KKKKK, or KKK Kids Komics, even better!) :P
  • Don't worry Jeff. At least half of those books will be at least a week late, and 25% will be at least a month late.

Check out the Secret Headquarters (my store) website! It's a pretty lame website, but I did it myself, so tough noogies

Listen to WOXY.com, it's the future of rock-n-roll!

  • Was that too cynical-sounding?

  • Who cares? At least it was honest.
