  • Ah, shame.
  • Barbara Billingsly has died, too, Saturday at the age of 94.
  • Rest in peace, Mr. Cunningham, Mrs. Cleaver.
  • I did not know that Tom Bosley was a Tony-winning actor before his television career took off.

As noted over here, Tom Bosley was cast as the dad in the Happy Days series after Harold Gould played the role in the pilot -- which, I did not mention, was aired as an episode of Love, American Style.

Tom Bosley was an affable, well-liked character actor -- so much so, that Aaron Spelling wanted him for Charlie's Angels, but he was tied up with Happy Days ... so Spelling hired the similar-looking David Doyle, and named the character "Bosley."
  • On the same day that Tom Bosley died, so too did Johnny Sheffield (at 79, "Boy" no longer).
  • I grew up watching Happy Days and while the Fonz was the star, Mr. C was the moral center! Wish more dads were like him!
