It was an outdoor graduation on Friday, and the weather cooperated wonderfully. She looked beautiful in her gown and cap, though it was difficult to get a picture of the two of us. Her mom was crying so much that she couldn't use the camera.
She'll be attending Edinboro University of PA in the fall, though her plan to commute is a serious setback to my plans to never wear clothes around the house after she was finished with high school. Maybe she'll be ready for the dorms next year.

There's nothing like a bright, clear, sunny day to make a celebration special. It's practically a living metaphor for a wonderful, new beginning. Congratulations!
And although she's made the call to commute, in my experience living on campus was worth it, even if it was just a stone's throw away from home.

I agree with you completely. Linda, my oldest daughter, and Pat really took to college life from day one, but Kathleen's a different critter. She's not as sure of what she wants to do when she graduates from college, and for all her effervescence in high school, I think she's extremely nervous about being a little fish in the big pond.
I figure she'll acclimate in her freshman year and be ready for campus life come sophomore.
Then I can start walking around the house naked as soon as I get off work.
