Hi, been a while. Last year part of my route (I'm a spacial ed van driver these days) was getting a kid named Luke to and from school. He's in a wheelchair, but he likes comics. I showed him a preview's issue and he picked out a bunch of comics, I put them into my lcs and waited. But none of them came in before school ended (and with it temporarily my job) and I don't have him this year. He already gave me the money for the comics so I kept asking for them, but my lcs kept saying no. Then they moved to a town further away, managers changed and I found out the person I had given the list too was pretty bad about previews orders. The person who replaced him was going to help, but then she moved onto a different store and never responded to my emails. They've changed managers again and I've given up on them, but I know he wants the comics and I'm determined to get them for him. Trouble is getting to a comic book store isn't easy for me right now. I'm putting the list here, can anyone give me a good online source for comics?

Welcome back Mark.
Thanks.
To answer your question, I get my comics from a local store, but they are ordered through Comixology (www.comixology.com). I select what I want, and have an ongoing pull list, and the comics are set aside for me at my store. I don't know if Comixology sends comics directly to customers.
Is there another alternative people can recommend?
Thanks, I think that might do it. This Wednesday I'll take some time at work and head into Cambridge. There are three comic book stores in Harvard Square and between this and them I should be able to get a start on this list.
I've been waiting for someone who buys comics online more frequently to chime in. The last time I looked online--which was about two years ago or so--I found the best prices on eBay. I've also used mycomicshop.com. Mile High Comics is usually pricey.
I hope this situation works out for you, Mark.
And welcome back.
Thanks, I think it will. For Christmas I gave him 3 usb tabs with the comics I've been scanning over the past decade or so (minus the more adult titles of course) and he seemed happy with them. I don't have that route anymore, but a driver was out a few weeks ago and I drove Luke home and he was still interested. Course being a kid who reads comics today is a lot different from being a kid who read comics back when I started. Likes to draw too.

Doesn't sound like that place knows what they're doing.
I usually get comics online from Midtown Comics. They're okay if you don't mind the occasional creased cover on graphic novels.
They used to. But a management change and a location change took a lot out of the place.
