  • I always feel extra sad when I see someone has died only days away from their birthday.

It's also sad that Angela Lansbury doesn't have even one Emmy Award (out of 18 nominations) or Academy Award (out of three nominations) to go with all of those Tony Awards (five, plus one for Lifetime Achievement).

  • By the way, Angela Lansbury was the surprise cameo referenced in the post I wrote of my impressions of Mary Poppins Returns.

Also, we can thank Angela Lansbury for giving Jerry Orbach a career boost when he needed it (and I'm sure he's thanking her, even from the grave).

  • John "Sgt. Schultz" Banner died on his birthday.  Dunno if that would be better or worse.

  • I think the only thing I've ever seen her in was Blue Hawaii.

  • Anyone who has never seen The Manchurian Candidate (1962) should rush to see it. Not to be confused with the ill-advised remake, John Frankenheimer directed this adaptation of Richard Condon's brilliant novel that riffed on McCarthyism. If you watch it without knowing the story, Angela Lansbury's performance will blow you out of your shoes and socks. It also has fantastic performances by Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, Janet Leigh, Henry Silva, James Gregory, Leslie Parrish, John McGiver and Khigh Dhiegh.

  • Tracy reminds me I have seen The Court Jester

  • I'm sure that she reminds you of a lot of things.,  :)
