  • I agree with most of them. There are a handful that I don't know.

  • The one I'm surprised isn't there is the Paul Smith panels from X-Men 173 or 174 where Wolverine stabs himself to get the opponent behind him. (Or is that from Wolverine Limited Series? .... Can't remember)

Edit: Nope, not the X-Men issue I was thinking ... that's a fight versus Silver Samurai. Still, I love this sequence from 173.

1936106690?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024But what is the panel where Wolverine does the self-impalement?

  • There are quite a few of them I disagree with. Many of them conflate iconic moments with iconic panels. It's an interesting springboard for discussion.

  • Looking through the panels, I sort of felt as if the person who put them together hadn't read enough comics to be compiling such a list.

  • I'm surprised at the number of Simonson Thor entries. That run wasn't bad but it didn't make much of an impression on me.
  • A few of my thoughts:

    1. No. I'd have chosen the very last panel of the story
    2. No (not even the Kirby original if I'm correct)
    3. Maybe...
    4. Yes
    5. No.  There's a better panel later in the story.

  • Should a list of "iconic panels" include splash pages? (Nos. 10, 11, 24, 29, 31, 38, 40, 43, 44, 54, 55, 56, 58, 59, 63, 64, 66) I wouldn't think so.

I certainly think such a list should not include splash pages that have been cropped (Nos. 22, 47).

    What he said.

  • Also ...

    No Iron Man?

    No Incredible Hulk?

No Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos?

No Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

    No Marvel Team-Up?

    No Marvel Two-in-One/The Thing?

    No Black Panther?

No Luke Cage, Hero for Hire?

    No Power Man/Iron Fist?

    No Ghost Rider?

    No Tomb of Dracula?

  • Randy,

Your list of responses brings to mind an old movie ad campaign. An announcer's voice said, "And now, Woody Allen with a few answers to questions about his new movie "Sleeper"...

Cut to Woody sitting alone at a conference table who simply says,

    "Yes"

    "Yes"

    "No, definitely not."

    "Only with a banana once"

    "Absolutely NOT"

    "Well, yes".

And that's all they shared.  You never got the questions.

They cut directly to a screen as the announcer says "Now playing everywhere".
