It's being widely reported that Dan Didio is no longer co-publisher of DC Comics. What this means for the upcoming 5G initiative, or DC Comics in general, remains to be seen. For now, it seems, Jim Lee is sole publisher, but that might be an interim situation.
I have nothing to add except that the FCBD book was supposed to launch 5G, so it'll be interesting to see if it still does.
For the best coverage of Didio's departure, I suggest listening to the most recent Wait, What? podcast. Graham McMillain & Jeff Lester ground any speculation in a lot of actual information, and they are careful not to go too far out onto any limbs. Definitely worth a listen, here.
Jim Lee made a statement at C2E2. But to me it felt very carefully worded to be non-informative. I assume that the decisions needed have not been formally made yet.
Yeah, it didn't say much. But it did say that they're not seeking a new co-publisher; Lee is the sole publisher now.
And it also tried to quash the rumors that Warners will be closing DC or selling it to Marvel or other such apocalyptic nonsense.
I found that message to be a bit tentative, myself.
