  • 102. Wow. He beat the odds. I'm glad he lived as long as he did. I celebrate his life.

  • His Mad work was a part of my childhood.

I hope he had the opportunity in those 102 years to live out one of his infamous Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions, where the reporter asks the old guy to what he owes his long life.

("To the fact that I haven't died yet.")

  • I loved those fold-ins. Brilliant!

  • An absolute giant. He'll be missed.

  • I used to stare at the fold-ins and wonder - "how in the world does he do these things".

  • Al Jaffe also illustrated or wrote and illustrated numerous MAD paperbacks of original material. This is a cherished favorite:

  • However ... I really can't champion the "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions" feature or collection or original MAD paperbacks in that vein. To my mind today, they led to a lowering of the public discourse because they're all about gratuitous insults, which hasn't been good.
