Overall, I'd say that Season Thirteen was OK, but not great. My favrorite epsiode was "Gamra vs. Jiger", and my least favorite was "Munchie". With cettain exceptions, i wasn't overwhelmed by the choie of movies. Personally, Ithink taht they should avoid the more recent movies. For me, current mediocre movies lack the interesting quirks that older mediocre movies sometimes had. That said, I understand that they may have limited choice in what suitable movies they may have available to them.
Also, I'm not sure that haing multiple hosts was a good idea. I mean, it was nice seeing Joel again, and Emily wasn't bad, Butn I feel as though Jonah and his team never got the chance to establish themselves onntheir own the way that Joel and Mike did.
Also, in general, I feel like the "revival" seasons have lost some of the "home-made", "cow town puppet show" feelingnthat the old series had. Oddly enough, Inthink it's gotten a little too slick.
As I write this, I'm only three movies in to season 13.

That must be it. Whereas I enjoyed Santo in the Treasure of Dracula, I felt that Robot Wars and Beyond Atlantis were merely bland rather than truly "bad."
What (or I should say "who") I like about the new show/cast is Patton Oswalt and Felicia Day. I generally skip the "in-between" parts (especially when watching a show more than once), but I watch these because they are the only two MST3K regulars (that I know of) who are known for anything beyond MST3K. That, and Kinga is much nicer to look at than Joel or Mike or Jonah.

Well, Bob, we haven't agreed on much about this season, but I will agree with your overall assessment. My favorites were Santo in the Treasure of Dracula, Batwoman, Gamera vs. Jiger, The Mask and The Bubble. I've finally put my finger on the problem I have with the skits. It's like when you're watching a Marx Brothers movie and suddenly the tenor comes out and sings a love song. Both the song and the skits get in the way of the jokes.
To me,the host segments are an integral part of the show. I very much enjoyed the interplay between Joel. Mike, the Bots and their Mads, and I found that Jonah, Emily, their Bots and their Mads had potential which they haven't had time to realize. (People seem to forget that the old show took a couple of seasons to find its feet, as it were. Some of those episodes from Season One in particular weren't very good. Even Joel has admitted as much)
I find the idea of not watching the host segments to be genuinely baffling. If it works for you, great, but, geez, I just don't get it.
Oh, I watch them... but only the first time I watch an episode. I just FF over them on subsequent viewings.
I forgot to mention that I liked seeing the three hosts together. It reminded me of when Tracy and I went to see the Monkees at the Fox Theater in St. Louis on one of our first dates: "Mike" was missing from that show, too.
