I rather thought that " the Merc " , as all " the digerati " call it...:-)... , or so I am told...was in better health than pretty much all Northern California daily newspapers , and pretty much most dailies in the U.S. period , due to its Silicon Valley home...
...Bluntly , though I suppose he continued working some (And , IIRC , was in the obit said to have , for the last several years , been an acting teacher at some academy/class/community and living there .) , he would seem to be , at least on a surface level , a textbook example of someone who , after playing a rather gimmicky/one-dimensional part - Of a TV teenager , when it would appear he'dve been about 25/6 when he was cast for it !!!!!!!!! - who found himself rather typecast/" HIM ????????? " when the show was finished...Heyges , IIRC , later had another ongoing series role , anyhow , on Cagney And Lacey in its last couple of seasons...

Back in my professional theatre days, I remember mroe than once seeing over 30 actors cast as teens. It has much more to do with looks and energy than it does actual age.
