Philip Portelli replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"Sidekick. Partner. Ally. Friend. Compatriot. Whatever the term, the basic gist was always "Someone the Hero can talk to, explain things to, have to rescue and be able to count on.
As for the Atom asking about future chidren and him having one with…"

Jeff of Earth-J replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"Did Alfred maintain Stately Wayne Manor all by himself? Were there ever any other servants shown at Wayne Manor?
Elizabeth Collins Stoddard fired all of the Collinwood servants except fpr Matthew Morgan in 1948. After his death, she hired Mrs.…"

Philip Portelli replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"I don't have the 2023 JSA series. I may order the trades.
As for Stargirl & the Lost Children #1:

This is the coolest TNT has ever looked!
TNT and Dan the Dynamite were revived in Super Friends #12 (Jl'78) as technically "Earth-One" charcters.…"

That'd probably be useful for a lot of rich guys, whether they were super-heroes or not."

Dave Elyea replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"Presumably,  anyone besides Alfred who works in or around those various stately manors is required to sign an iron clad NDA.  Or Dr. Fate (or the mystic of your choice) enchants the manors with some sort of selective amnesia spell, so normal people…"

Captain Comics replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"That's the way it's always depicted, but it can't possibly be true. Maybe he contracts out for cleaning services in non-critical areas, which could be the many, many rooms that Bruce never uses. Or uses Bat-Roombas."

The Baron replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
" (Even stately manors in the country have mailmen, delivery people, maids, butlers, milkmen, road workers, cooks, nannies, au pairs, tutors

Dave Elyea replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"I had a hard time warming to any of the new "sidekicks", since I recall the Incredible way that bushel of Golden Age legacy heroes that were rolled out during the  JSA/JSA All Stars were developed,  which is to say, not at all.  What made anyone…"

Captain Comics replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"Agreed. If you lopped off the JSA intro at the end, it would be a solid, self-contained entry in the Sandman saga. I enjoyed the Fog story for exactly the reasons you state.
Those last few pages, though, contradict every JSA origin story we've read…"

Rob Staeger (Grodd Mod) replied to Captain Comics's discussion The Massive, Extravagant, Over-the-top Golden Age JSA Re-read
"Of all of those series, I liked Wesley Dodds: The Sandman best. The story was solid, and Riley Rossmo's quirky art recalled Guy Davis's, which helped to set the story squarely in the style of Sandman Mystery Theatre."

I have one scheduled for week after next. What's up?

    • Richard Willis May 16, 2018 at 11:43pm

Are you going to write an article on the show Cloak & Dagger, which debuts June 7 on the Freeform cable channel (formerly ABC Family)?

    • Bill Cromer February 14, 2017 at 8:14am

After all these years, that's all I get, "Welcome aboard" ? Geez, it's not like I've only know you longer than any human on this planet outside my siblings.  Seriously, I hope all is well. Speaking of siblings, how's Clyde, Bethany and Persilla (sp?)? Hal, Randy and Karen (mine) are still alive and kicking. I hope you're doing OK. My life has been eventful, good and bad. You must be in hog heaven with all the movies finally able to match people's imagination with the CGI and all.  Every time I go to one or read a comic, I can't help but think of you, old friend. Yes, you're living rent free in my skull.  Stop it. Stop it now...damn, didn't work. I live in Charleston, SC.  Great place. Come visit...or else...

Hulk now part of army of Hulks. A-Bomb, Red-Hulk, She-Hulk, Red She-Hulk, Paisley She-Hulk, Hulkcetera. Hulk in big-budget movies. Hulk on red carpets. Hulk's introversion clearly a ploy to get attention.

    • Lee Whitfield July 5, 2015 at 1:31am

Hulk still not sure about this social media stuff, kinda defeats the whole purpose of being an introvert, if you ask Hulk...

i'm happy that she is such a good student, tell her hello for me.
